Alpha Safety Continues To Grow With New Senior Appointment
Leading UK health & safety specialists Alpha Safety have appointed Andrew Protheroe to lead their new consultancy department.
As the new Head of Risk Management (HSSEQ), Andrew will oversee the development and delivery of consultancy services to businesses in all sectors across the UK as the company continues to grow at a phenomenal rate.
Established in 2010 as a local Health & Safety training provider, the company now employs over 26 and delivers training courses to businesses across the UK from their sites in Swansea, Milford Haven, Cardiff and Bristol with many other sites due to open in the near future.
Founder and Managing Director Paul Jones commented, “As the company has expanded in to different regions and as our portfolio of courses has grown, it has become evident that more and more businesses require a hands on consultancy approach to help with the planning and implementation of Health & Safety. We have met this demand by establishing a new consultancy division and are pleased to welcome someone of Andrew’s caliber to head up the team”.
Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge to the business after more than 23 years of overlapping, safety, security, quality, and environmental management experience in a variety of sectors globally.
Andrew commented “Having worked on projects and programmes as an employee and consultant around the World, my theatres of operation include hostile/complex, corporate, engineering, heavy industry, maritime and oil & gas environments for both public and private organisations”.
Holding an extensive portfolio of Health & Safety qualifications, Andrew is looking forward to using his knowledge and expertise to help develop the consultancy arm of the Welsh based business.
Andrew commented “The opportunity to join Alpha Safety was too good to pass. After meeting Paul and understanding his vision for the business and how I could be part of an exciting chapter in the company’s history, the decision was an easy one”.
Andrew’s desire to promote best practice over minimum legal requirements will be a motivating factor in the development of the consultancy arm and his detailed approach will be of immense benefit to his clients.
Andrew commented, “As safety and indeed security are trans-boundary disciplines both in terms of industry and organisational structure, I have developed a strategic, process driven approach to every task I undertake. Therefore, my decision-making is founded upon the fundamental principles of risk management that encapsulates health, safety, security, environmental and quality (HSSEQ) something I will look to adapt to each client my team deals with”.
