IPAF ePAL goes digital

IPAF ePAL goes digital image

As of June 1st IPAF has launched their new IPAF ePAL app allowing all existing and new qualification holders to display their IPAF training card digitally on a smart device. Below we take a further look into the new scheme launched by IPAF.

What is ePAL?

ePAL is the new application developed by IPAF in order to help drive sustainable change within the construction industry. The app allows holders to add and display their qualifications including PAL card for Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWPS), Mast Climbing Work Platform (MCWP) and hoist operators, Competent Assessed Persons (CAP), MEWPs for managers and Site Assessment for MEWP selection.

Why go digital?

The ePAL app does not only replace the need for paper and plastic documents, but also offers a convenient storage solution for all IPAF documents and qualifications. The app allows users to easily record, store and share their card and certificates all in one space. Digital PAL cards also provide extra security measures and mitigate the risk of lost cards.

How do I get the app?

The IPAF ePAL app can be downloaded via the below links:

iOS devices - https://apps.apple.com/app/ipaf-epal/id1557633308

Android devices - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ipaf.epal

How do I add my training & qualifications?

Existing card holders can simply scan their current PAL cards on the training section of the app. On selecting 'training' you will be prompted to scan your card on the back of your device which will automatically update your PAL card. New IPAF qualification holders or those without a card can manually input their 'operator ID' which will again link your training to your device.
